“A House of Prayer”

Oak Forest churchesGod tells us in Isaiah 56:7, “…for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.” Jesus quotes this passage when describing what church should be as well. At Southbridge Church, we believe that God wants us to pray regularly, and that prayer is extremely powerful and yields tangible results. Many have done studies that show the act of praying or meditating has shown results. We believe that this happens because of who we are praying to, and not simply because we are doing something spiritual.

The Bible describes God as our Heavenly Father who created the heaven and earth out of nothing and created us in His image. Jesus said in Matthew 6, “See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?”

If God is that powerful, and cares so deeply about us, it follows then that He can and will answer prayer.

Below is a list of prayer requests and praises for answered prayers from our congregation and beyond. These requests are prayed for by our church on Sundays and by our staff during the week. Whether you are part of our church, our Orland Park community, or beyond, we ask you to remember the following in prayer as well.
